The year was 2003
His family and friends were left in disbelief when Amit shared his decision to leave his cushy job and dedicate his life to training and teaching. Many, as obvious, doubted; many frowned; and many even derided. But the inclination to leave an impact on individuals and organizations was too strong for the resistance.
An MBA in HR and Marketing from a premier B-school, Amit had started his corporate career at a leadership role with a leading FMCG company. But the comfort of a set organization was too dull for him and he joined a young company in the education sector, where he could put his business skills to test and see the implications of his decisions. From a faculty to a Business Manager to a Regional Manager to one of the youngest Senior Managers in a span of just 4 years was a testimony to his business abilities.
And then EduCorp happened in 2007. Amit's vision to have an educational corporate that would work for the professional teaching and training during all aspects in an individual's life made this happen. It must be his strong focus on developing superlative content and maintaining unparalleled delivery that EduCorp started rising the ladder of success right from the beginning. But his biggest challenge, and hence the biggest realization, was yet to come. In 2010, he faced the unforeseen challenge of uncontrolled growth and he failed 'proudly', as Amit likes to call it.
The road to recovery was much more complicated than anticipated and reinforced his belief of investing in right kind of people. "In the midst of the business challenges, what kept me going was my team and my people. And today, whatever I share in my trainings regarding people's management is a first-hand experience. I don't preach interpersonal and team skills. I practised it all my life, and now I just share it with my clients," the master trainer says.
Today, Amit Hans and EduCorp Trainings have become synonymous with high quality training programs for corporate and academia. During his 14 years of career, he considers himself fortunate to be able to combine the best of both the worlds- Business and Education, which gives him the privileged sensibility and a balanced perspective to comprehend the world of Corporate Training. In his own words, "My biggest strength as a trainer is that I myself have performed in what I teach; be it sales & marketing, strategy, team-management or leadership. In short, I have done business. No trainer, I believe, can do justice to training unless there has been a self-experience."
